Are we all champing at the bit and raring to go with our Autumn programmes having been refreshed and renewed after the summer break. I hope everyone has enjoyed the holiday season. I certainly know summer camps have gone very well as I read with interest the many visit reports that come tumbling through my letter box. I will not mention any names but many of these reports have a full compliment of ticks in the very good categories and it is a pleasure to read the encouraging comments from the host D.C’s. Personally I have enjoyed my visits out to a number of camps and of being given an enthusiastic welcome. |

Talking of tumbling through letter boxes everyone should have now received my invitation to the snowball (the D.C’s cheese and wine evening for all adult leaders and helpers in our district) at 7.45 pm on Saturday 21st October at 1st Northwood’s headquarters. Over 75 invitations have gone out but sad to |

say the early response has been few with quite a number of ‘unable to come’ replies. I want this to be a fun and fellowship evening where we can all enjoy ourselves so please let me have your replies without delay so our scout fellowship can plan the catering. |

I am very pleased to welcome Grahame Welch at 2nd Eastcote as he takes up his new role as Group Scout Leader. Everyone to note this change in their directories. Also 2nd Eastcote are our hosts at this year’s carol service on the 8th December 7.15 to 8.15 pm and it would be an encouragement for Grahame and his team for a full turn out from all sections within our district on that occasion. |

Steve tells me that he has virtually a full booking for the cubs Brownsea Island day’s outing on 16th September which promises to be an action packed visit to a place of special memory for all of us involved in the movement. |
